Lakes Entrance - Paynesville Monday 4th October 2010

This is Raymond Island, a small fishing village off Paynesville on the opposite side of the lake to Lakes Entrance. It has a huge Koala population and as they have no predators and they are confined to the Island they are fat and healthy.
The vehicle ferry was out of action the day we were there so we had to go over by water taxi (free service) and then we walked all over the island.
The koalas were right in the trees in peoples front yards. They were so cute and just sat and looked at us from within a hand's reach.

We free camped right on the waters edge. Whilst we were sitting having dinner, we couldn't see the bank from our seats and it seemed as if we were floating on the water.
We sat outside and had afternoon tea surveying our world!
